BREANA ESPINOZA
Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulator | she, her
I was born and raised in Southern California. My mother worked as a Correction Counselor in a Federal Prison where she found supporting incarcerated mothers very fulfilling. I grew up seeing how hard she worked to provide for our family. My father was a Professional Body Builder. He instilled in me an appreciation for connecting with our bodies and taking a more conscious approach to nutrition. With that being said I never skip dessert.
We valued hard work, determination, the importance of family, and building strong relationships. These values have stayed with me throughout my life and have influenced my approach to my work as a doula.
My passion for birth work began during my own pregnancy journey, where I discovered a sense of awe and wonder about the process of bringing new life into the world. I wanted to help others experience the same sense of empowerment and excitement that I did, so I became a doula.
When I’m not working as a doula, I love spending time with my family and indulging in my hobbies. My husband and I have created a wonderful life together, with him working as a barber by day and performing as a lead vocalist in a salsa orchestra by night. Our two sons bring us endless joy and keep us on our toes.
I enjoy being outdoors, listening to podcasts, singing karaoke, and watching a good murder mystery documentary. But my greatest joy comes from raising my sons to be loving, compassionate, generous, and strong individuals. I am truly inspired by the amazing mothers in my life, who have taught me so much about what it means to care for your family in the face of challenges.
As a doula, I believe that birth is a sacred rite of passage that should be approached with excitement and confidence. I trust the body’s ability to give birth and aim to empower my clients to trust in their own bodies as well. I let my intuition guide me and tune into my clients’ individual needs, providing an encouraging presence and an informational resource throughout the entire process.
My Methods
I support my clients with visualization and movement, which can help ease discomfort and encourage relaxation. It’s an honor to be a part of such a special moment in my clients’ lives and to witness the incredible strength and resilience of the human body.
